Stampin' Up! Shipping Costs
Effective April 1, 2008, Stampin' Up! will make a change to their shipping costs. With the overall increase in the economy, increases in postage, transportation, gas etc., we've all noticed increases in most everything we use and purchase each day. Unfortunately shipping is also affected by these increases.
Currently the minimum shipping charge on an order is $3.95 (or 10% which ever is greater). As of April 1, 2008, this will change to a minimum of $6.95 (or 10% which ever is greater).
While this should not impact most hostesses, as they currently pay the 10% shipping charge because of the larger orders, it will impact the occasional small orders that individuals place.
Please be assured that I will continue to offer to combine orders whenever possible if it will impact the overall shipping cost. It's my goal to continue providing the best service that I possibly can to you.

Criss Cross Valentine

I decided to make a criss-cross card for a Valentine swap I'd joined, and also wanted to use up some of the designer paper I've been hoarding, although a couple of peices certainly didn't make a dent in the mountains of paper I have!
Stamps: Party Punch, Holiday and Wishes, Happy Heart Day
Ink: Real Red
Paper: Whisper White, Real Red, Mellow Moss, various designer paper from unknown manufacturers
I also used paper piercing tools, red brad, stickles for the stamped flower image, corner rounder, red 5/8" grosgrain ribbon, dimensionals, red sticky tape, various watercolor crayons, blender pen, paper flower made by American Crafts.

Just Monkey'n Around

I was determinded to make a card using this cute little monkey this weekend. This stamp, given to me by a good friend, sits on a shelf over where I stamp, and smiles down on me all the time...

Ink: Black, various SU markers
Paper: Close to Cocoa, Old Olive, Taken with Teal, So Saffron, Whisper White, Rose Red
Designer paper - unknown manufacturer
Also used were brads, ticket punch, sponge daubers, and paper piercing tools. It's difficult to see in the picture, but Close to Cocoa ink was sponged on both pieces of white paper to tone down the brightness of it.

Garden Whimsy

I decided to challenge myself in making a card this week. I decided to make a card using just two colors, including the ink! Being crazy about this years SU "in colors" I decided to use Groovy Guava and white.... ONLY! I had no idea, not a clue, zero, zippo, nada for ideas when I started out...
Stamps: Garden Whimsy, Mini Mates
Ink: Groovy Guava
Paper: Whisper White, Groovy Guava, Groovy Guava prints designer paper.
I also used a Marvy circle scallop punch, SU's scallop punch, Signo white gel pen, "wave" designer scissors, SU dimensionals, and Star Dust Stickles to add some pizzaz to the butterfly.
I was satisfied with how my challenge came out.... what da ya think?
True Friend

I decided to not put a greeting on this card as I'm in need of several cards for swaps right now and not yet sure which swap this will be used for. Easily added would be a small greeting at the bottom of the card...
Stamps: True Friend
Ink: Versamark, Purely Pomegranate, Wild Wasabi
Paper: Whisper White, Wild Wasabi, Purely Pomegranate and SU's Darling Doodles designer paper
Also used was an antique brass buckle from SU's Hodgepodge Hardware and some stitched Purely Pomegranate grosgrain.
I just love the "In Colors" that Stampin' UP! came out with for this year. I wish they had been brought in as permanent colors instead of temporary ones.

Let it Snow....

This is the card I made for my Christmas cards this year. Using some Stampin' UP designer paper, along with doing some embossing with the Cuttlebug snowflake folder, it created the entire background. I just offset it with a piece of Stampin' UP's red grosgrain ribbon.
Stamps: Big on Christmas
Ink: Black Stazon
Paper: Real red,Whisper white, Always artichoke
Various Stampin' Up markers were used to color in that cute little snowman and fill in the letters.
Holiday stamped gift

As much as I love making cards it's fun to occasionally make other things as well using stamps. This is a candle I stamped as a Christmas gift for my daughter. Don't you think it looks perfect sitting on the table in it's berry wreath ring?
Stamps: Unknown manufacturer
Ink: Black Stazon
Also used were various colored markers, tissue paper and a heat tool.
It's Snow much Fun!

I needed to make a card for a "snowman swap" and thought how perfect it would be to make the card using these little guys having some winter fun. The background was made using the Cuttlebug snowflake embossing folder with white pigment ink sponged on the snowflakes.
Stamps: Snowy Play
Ink: White, black Stazon
Paper: Brilliant blue, Whisper white, Ballet blue
Also used was the ticket punch, royal grosgrain ribbon, blender pens and various watercolor crayons.

ALOHA!
I've recently returned from a wonderful vacation in Hawaii. We flew into Honolulu and the following day left on a 10 day cruise to the beautiful Hawaiian Islands. We went to Volcanoes National Park, a luau, Waimea Canyon, The Road to Hana, Pearl Harbor, Kannapoli, the beautiful ocean beaches in Maui, a rainforest, Fern Grotto, we took a steam engine train ride through some of the countryside, visited the Black Sandy Beach, Maui Ocena Center, and so many other places just too numerous to mention. I took lots of photographs and have set up a slideshow on the right side of my blog to share a few of the photographs with you....

Happy Halloween!

My favorite holiday of the year, Halloween! I just love seeing the little ghosts and goblins going door to door yelling "trick or treat". Their excitement fills the cold evening air!
This is my Halloween card for this year. The background is a wonderful raised flocked paper, made by Making Memories, called "Flocked Spider". It's a perfect background with it's raised flocked cobweb!
All paper and inks used are from Stampin' UP except the cobweb background.
Stamps: Tricky Treats
Paper: Flocked Spider, Whisper White, Basic Black
Ink: So Saffron, Black Stazon, Sahara Sand
Also used were various markers and colored pencils, along with sponge daubers.
Have a spooktacular Halloween!
