Reid is 1 year old!

We've had lots of birthdays this month! Little Reid turned a year old and this is the card I made for him in honor of his "big day". Reid is just the cutest little red headed guy who has one of those great big contagious smiles!

I wanted to make a card that showed the age he was celebrating on the front and went through tons of stamps looking for what I thought was the perfect one. I finally dug through some images that were given to me and knew right away when I'd found it!!! A cute little teddybear holding a frame that I could place his age into. A BIG thanks to my stamping pal Candy, who had given this image to me a while ago.

Stamp: Darcies

Ink: Black, Tempting Turquoise

Paper: Really Rust, Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White, designer paper by K&Company

I also used various colored pencils and markers, along with a piece of rainbow twine made by Lehigh. I cut out the center of the frame and backed it with card stock I ran through the computer so I could get the perfect size "1". I also did the same thing for the personalized greeting. A sponge dauber was used with Tempting Turquoise around the edges of the greeting to add a bit of color.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LITTLE REID!

The Ladybug

I just love little ladybugs and couldn't wait to finish this card so I could post it to show all of you. Using the bright red rick-rack I think was the perfect thing to finish off the card, don't you agree? :)

Stamps: Itty Bitty Backgrounds (SU), and the greeting is from My Sentiments Exactly

Ink: Black Stazon

Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black, Real Red, all from Stampin' UP!

This was really a fun card to make! I used circle and oval punches to make the ladybug, and added a couple of black brads for the antenna. The wings were stamped to match the red background paper using Itty Bitty Backgrounds. Then I decided to do some paper piercing, but I still think it's that piece of bright red rick-rack that gives the card a bit of pizzaz! Thanks for stopping by my blog today!

Happy Birthday Jocelyn!

Jocelyn's birthday is always a special day but this year she claims she isn't counting them anymore! Here is the card I made for her this year to help celebrate her special day.

Stamps: Terific Tulips,Warmest Regards

Ink: Perfect Plum, Pale Plum, Versamark, Certainly Celery

Paper: Very Vanilla, Whisper White,Pale Plum, Certainly Celery

I also used Iridescent Ice embossing powder, Birds & Swirls Cuttlebug embossing folder, and a piece of organdy ribbon to finish it all off.

Sometimes I want one of my cards to simply "sparkle" and the Iridescent Ice certainly did the trick for this card.Unfortunately, it doesn't really show it in this picture.

I hope you had a wonderful birthday Jocelyn!!

Be Happy Every Day!

I've decided to post the following 3 cards here on my blog. All 3 were going to be published by Rubber Stamper Magazine. The artwork had already been done by them and the cards were ready for publication. Then it was announced that the company was going to be sold. So now I'm going to publish them myself on my blog! LOL

I've always liked images with alot of detail so maybe that's why this one really called out to me... I just love all the different plants sitting on the ladder.

Card #1

Stamps: All images by Hero Arts

Ink: Black Stazon

Paper: Whisper White, Mellow Moss, Perfect Plum

Also used were plum colored eyelets, Square Steps corner punch (retired SU)along with various colored pencils, watercolor crayons and aqua painter.

Everything's better when shared with a friend

How true...everything's better when shared with a friend! This is the 2nd card that was chosen by Rubber Stamper. The little girls remind me of my sister and I when we were little...we always wore dresses and one of us was always toting a cat around!

Stamps: Floral Background, And Everything Nice, both from Stampin' UP!

Ink: Black Stazon, So Saffron

Paper: Whisper White, Lavender Lace, So Saffron, Certainly Celery

Also used was a punch made by Fiskars to punch the left side design, various SU watercolor crayons and an aqua painter.

Tea Time

This little bistro table with the teapot and cups just looks so inviting. Let's just pull up a couple of chairs and have a cup of tea!

Card #3

Stamps: The table image is from Great Impressions, background stamp is the Houndstooth background by Stampin' UP!

Ink: Black Stazon

Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black, Pink Passion

I also used various markers, punches, and 1/4" black grosgrain ribbon, all from SU.

Happy Birthday Sweet Lily!

I can hardly believe my grandbaby turned a year old on Mother's Day! The year has gone by so quickly and it amazes me every time I look at the baby pictures I posted here on my blog when she was born. It doesn't seem as though it was that long ago when she came home from the hospital and we had to make a mad dash to the store for premie clothes that were still too big. And here she is now...standing,taking those few little baby steps, chattering, and always giggling.

Here is the card I made for her birthday. It's not at all what I'd planned, but I like the way it came out.

Stamps: SU retired Kids at Play, word stamp from Darcies

Ink: Black Stazon

Paper: Whisper White, Lavender Lace, miscellaneous designer paper from an unknown source (don't we all have a mountain of stashed paper?)

I also used my Nesties, brads,a piece of purple gingham ribbon, along with various colored pencils and SU markers for color. I didn't have a number "1" stamp image in the right size so I made it on the computer and just ran a piece of card stock through the printer....worked perfectly!

GOD BLESS YOU SWEET LILY, HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY!

A VERY SPECIAL DAY!

Our family had a very important day this past Thursday, May 1st, and this was the card I made for the special event. I selected this beautiful soft color as it matched the dress the baby wore.

Stamps: Floral Background by Stampin' UP!, the saying is made by Paper Inspirations and was a gift from Nancy, a stamping friend of mine.

Ink: Almost Amethyst, Black Stazon

Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black, Almost Amethyst

I also used 3 pearl embellishments and some organdy ribbon just to add a bit of elegance to the card.

I cannot even begin to express how happy we are to have this precious child in our family. I thank all of our friends and family for their support throughout this journey that at times felt like it would never end. We have all been blessed, and my baby finally has her baby girl.
