JOY 2017

This is the Christmas card I made to send out this year. It's not my typical style of card, but I really like it, along with the navy blue card stock it was made with.
I wouldn't have been able to make this card without the help of my MISTI. I needed a clear, sharp image and MISTI was up to the task with all of the multiple times the stamp had to be re-inked to get a nice dark, clean image on so many cards. Here are the products used to make my card.

SU - Very Vanilla & Night of Navy card stock
SU - Joyful Nativity stamp set
Sunny Studios - Holiday Style stamp set
SU - Night of Navy ink
VersaMark ink
Gold embossing powder
Gold cording

I wish each and everyone of you a wonderful Christmas, and a safe, healthy, happy new year!

Until next time...

KITTY CHRISTMAS

Here is the card I made for challenge #109 over at Kitty Bee Designs, Aloha Challenge in December. The adorable kitty image is from one of the sponsors of the challenge, Kadoodle Bug Designs. The image is called Cute Kitty Christmas.
I've been wanting to use the MFT Die-namics called Stitched Scallop Basic Edges and thought that it would be perfect for my card. It sets this little kitty with the bowl of Christmas cookies off perfectly!  The other products that were used for my card were...

Spellbinders - Holiday Dies
Memory Box - Twinkling Snowflake Duet Die
SU - Silver Glimmer Paper
SU - Garden Green Card Stock
SU - Kraft Card Stock
American Crafts - DP from the Marquee Love Collection
Copics - Various Colors

Unfortunately, my picture doesn't show the beautiful sparkle of the twinkling snowflakes on the card, but this SU Glimmer Paper really has a wonderful sparkle to it! It's my favorite glitter paper I've ever used.

Until next time...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AUNT MICKEY!

Last year, my sisters and I flew to southern Florida and visited with our cousins Linda and Dean, and their delightful mom, our Aunt Mickey, who we hadn't seen in about 50 years! We were all looking forward to getting reacquainted with them after such a long time. We had a wonderful visit and vow not to loose contact again. I made this card for my Aunt Mickey who is turning 85 in a few days. Purple is the favorite color of the birthday girl, so I wanted to make sure her card was too.

I know I had a piece of designer paper with paw prints on it but wasn't able to find it when I went searching for it, so I decided to make my own using MFT's Staggered Paw Prints stencil, a sponge dauber and some Tea Dye distress ink from Tim Holtz. YOU'RE AWESOME!

Oh my goodness... My precious granddaughter, Lily Clara, is 10 years old today! I remember that little 5 lb bundle coming home from the hospital.....was it REALLY 10 years ago??  My Lily is crazy about soccer so I knew I had to find a soccer image to make her birthday card. Finding an image of a GIRL with a soccer ball, and not a boy, wasn't as easy as I first thought it would be. With the help of a stamping friend, this digital image was found on Etsy.
On one of the soccer teams she is on, she wears a red uniform. She has long blonde hair, and is number 23. That was the criteria I had to meet...

I started out with some Real Red card stock for my card base. Using Basic Black and white card stock for layering, and some Summer Sun card stock for some of the stars. All the card stock used on this card was from Stampin UP!

I decided to add a large soccer ball for my background underneath the image to add to the soccer theme. It was made using the Hexagon Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder from SU, then cut with a large Spellbinders Circle Die. Here are additional items that were used to complete Lily's birthday card.
MFT - Stitched Rounded Rectangle STAX
MFT - Stitched Banner Numbers Die-namics
MFT - Blueprints #20 Die-namics
MFT - Stacking Stars
MFT - More Essential Sentiments

Like this card says, YOU'RE AWESOME!
I hope you have a wonderful day.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY LILY!

QUILT CARD FOR BRENDA

It was recently my sister Brenda's birthday. She isn't into making cards, but she is fantastic with a sewing machine! One of the things she likes to do is quilt. What better birthday card for her then a quilted looking one! Here is what I came up with...
I used MFT's Quilt Square Cover-Up die and their Dotted Scallop Border Die-namic to make the card. Other than that, there were only a few other things needed as the quilt pattern takes up most of the card front. These are the other things I used...
My Minds Eye - DP from the Dolled Up Collection
SU - Lucky Limeade card stock
SU - Curly Cute Stamp Set
Button  from my button stash collection was used for the star center

We actually spent her birthday together at a weekend quilt sew. Had lots of fun, and both got going on a new quilt!

Until next time...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY PAT!

I've really needed a bunch of birthday cards lately...here is the newest one for a stamping friend of mine, Pat.

I started out using a beautiful card stock color from Gina K Designs called Applemint. Next I used a white layer and then a layer of DP from the Little Princess Collection made by Recollections. Using MFT Zig Zag Stitched Oval STAX, I made the center ovals from both Applemint and white card stock. The flower image is one of my very favorite floral images called Rose Garden, made by Fun Stampers Journey. Copic markers YG11, RV10, and R81 were used to color the flowers and leaves. Blueprints 29 die by MFT was used to cut the pieces for my greeting which is from SU's Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set.  To give my card a little bit of razzle dazzle, I used a couple of Go Green sequins to finish it off.
I hope you liked your card, Pat!

Until next time...

HAPPY EASTER

Every so often you come across a stamp set that becomes a "must have"for you. I just fell in love with this adorable new set by Gina K Designs called Spring Fling.
I love these cute little images and thought they'd be perfect peeking out of the little windows made with a die from MFT's Blueprints #27. The beautiful green card stock called Applemint, is also by Gina K Designs. The DP is from the Dots & Stripes Sorbet collection from MFT. HELLO SPRING

Spring is here....

I just heard from the company who opens our pool each year to make an appointment to get it opened in a matter of weeks. We just had 18-20" of snow dumped on us this past week so sometimes it's hard to believe that spring has actually arrived! I have been making a lot of floral cards lately....I must be getting spring fever.
My card base is made with SU's Lovely Lilac, adding a layer of white and some Certainly Celery DP on top. Blueprints #3 by MFT was used to die cut the white center arch that I stamped the flowers on, using an image from a SU set called "So Very Grateful". The small hello greeting is by Hero Arts. I had fun coloring the flowers using various Copics. When it came to the ribbon, I didn't have anything that was the right color to compliment the card, so I used the Copic color YR00 that was used for the peach flower on the card, and colored a piece of 1/2" white ribbon. It worked great and became a perfect matching color!

Happy Spring!
Until next time...

Gerbera Daisy Die-namic - MFT
Coral Crush card stock - MFT
Sour Apple card stock - MFT
